WHEEL DRIVE

The machine features an intelligent wheel drive system that pushes the moving blade forward. When the blade stabs into the ground, the wheel traction provides extra power to pierce hard soil. Conversely, when the blade moves backward, the wheel traction acts as a counter-resistance. This innovative mechanical interplay creates a natural damping effect, significantly reducing vibrations through the structural design of the machine.

STUDDED WHEELS

Just like a football player wears studs for better grip on the pitch, the wheels of the ELIET Edge Styler are equipped with robust rubber studs. This profile guarantees optimal traction on the lawn, which is especially useful during wet spring conditions when wheels are prone to slipping. As an added benefit, the soft rubber material ensures your terrace or driveway will not be damaged when driving across hard surfaces.

VARIABLE DRIVING SPEED

Because the ideal speed for cutting a border, digging a trench, or laying a cable slot depends heavily on the soil type and underground obstacles, precise speed control is essential. ELIET developed a compact two-step reduction gearbox that reduces the engine speed from 2800 rpm by a factor of 54. Combined with a variomatic transmission, the operator can continuously vary the driving speed by up to 30 percent using a single control lever on the handlebar.

KNIFE CHOICE

This innovative machine mechanizes the process of creating pristine lawn edges using a horizontal stabbing motion. This technique cleanly cuts away a small sod at the edge of the lawn, instantly mirroring the exact shape of the installed blade. Depending on your project, the machine can be deployed for several distinct applications:

– U-shaped knife: Designed for cutting shallow trenches to install irrigation systems or low-voltage cables.
– Angle knife: Engineered to remove sod between hard paving and the lawn, stopping grass from overgrowing paths and patios.
– Cable driving knife:** Perfect for installing robotic mower boundary wires. Paired with a specialized unwinding system, it buries the cable smoothly without damaging the surrounding turf.
– Golf bunker knife: Features a specialized profile to maintain the deep, high edges required for golf course bunkers.

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY

The ELIET Edge Styler is powered by an engine with an integrated reduction gearbox, boosting torque roughly sixfold. This means the engine never needs to run at full throttle. Operating at a calm 2800 rpm provides more than enough power to drive both the blade and the wheels. This engineering choice keeps fuel consumption remarkably low and treats the operator to a much quieter working environment.

GUIDE

When a lawn edge has collapsed or lost its shape, it is best to recreate a clean line. For the most precise results, mark out the new perimeter using a guide string. The operator can then align the handy pointer at the front of the machine with the string to trace the new path flawlessly.

FREE-STYLE CURVES

Modern landscaping embraces creative, fluid shapes over rigid straight lines. The Edge Styler handles sweeping contours effortlessly due to two specific design choices:

– Two-wheel stability with a swivel wheel: The main chassis balances on two primary wheels for excellent sideways stability and extreme maneuverability. A third rear swivel wheel was added to increase operator comfort without sacrificing the machine’s agility.
– Aligned cutting axis:The blade moves precisely along the axle line of the two main carrying wheels. This ensures the blade seamlessly tracks the exact path of the wheels, making fluid, organic shapes easy to execute.

PEDAL WITH RATCHETING MECHANISM

An integrated ratcheting foot pedal on the lower right of the machine allows the operator to leverage leg strength to set the depth mechanism before entering the soil. To operate, simply lift the rear handles slightly to take the weight off the ground, squeeze the release lever on the left handlebar grip, and pump the pedal until the blade reaches the desired depth. Lower the machine back down and engage the soil. Setting the depth before inserting the blade prevents unnecessary stress on the mechanical components.

LOW VIBRATION LEVEL

While a high-frequency stabbing action of 15 Hz would normally cause uncomfortable jolting, the Edge Styler uses mass distribution to neutralize shaking. Roughly 30 percent of the total 95 kg machine weight is concentrated directly in the wheels, keeping the center of gravity low and perfectly aligned with the blade guide. Because of this massive, low-slung design, the kinetic energy chooses the path of least resistance. Rather than shaking the machine and operator, the force is directed entirely into cutting the soil. On Pro models, an additional isolation system built into the steering wheel filters out any remaining high-frequency vibrations.

SWIVEL WHEEL

For general operation, the rear swivel wheel allows the machine to twist and turn around tight bends. When you need to cut perfectly straight borders, the swivel wheel can be locked into a fixed position. This stabilizes the machine against turning, allowing you to follow a straight line or reference string with minimal steering effort.

ADJUSTABLE STEERING WHEEL

To prevent upper-body fatigue during long working hours, the steering wheel features continuous height adjustment for ideal ergonomic posture. Furthermore, because the machine is frequently used on the sloped edges of golf course bunkers, the handlebar can also be tilted sideways. This allows the operator to walk upright and comfortable even when navigating uneven terrain and steep banks.

ANTI-DEVIATION DISK

When cutting a free-standing lawn edge, the physical pressure of the blade slicing through the sod naturally tries to push the machine away from the grass line. To counteract this drifting, the machine features an adjustable anti-deviation disk. This jagged wheel can be lowered into the turf where its teeth bite into the soil, acting as a lateral anchor that keeps the machine tracking perfectly straight without interruption.
