The ELIET Story
Time does not stand still. Certainly not at ELIET. That’s why our designers are already working on tomorrow’s machines. New prototypes are created in our own research and development department, ELIET Creative Lab™, that will determine the future of the market.
Driven by enthusiasm and hands-on experience, ELIET continues its search for
applications that will make garden work even easier. Quality, safety, and care for the
environment are of paramount importance.
Our engineers constantly work on the improvement of existing machines in addition
to designing new machines.

How It All Started
What started as a business run by a single person has now grown into a family-run company that influences markets around the world.
The name ELIET is a contraction of founder Emiel Lietaer‘s first and last name. Born in 1947 into a family of 8 successive generations of blacksmiths, he built broad technical experience in French and German machinery factories.
Faithful to his roots, Emiel set up a metal construction workshop. Due to the revival of garden culture in the 1970s, expansion into garden machinery followed quickly.
The first ELIET machines were produced around 1980. The great breakthrough came in 1986 with the International Agricultural Week at the Heysel in Brussels.
